We are Helen Baxendale and Lesley Loftus, experienced educators with a combined total of nearly 60 years in teaching. Helen holds a BEd Primary Honours degree and has taught for 27 years. Lesley has a Bachelor of Combined Studies and a PGCE, with 32 years of teaching experience.
Together, we have had the privilege of teaching children of all primary school ages and abilities.
Our extensive experience in education has shown us that many children can struggle in a large classroom environment where those who lack confidence and self-esteem find learning nearly impossible. These children often benefit instead from small group and personalised attention and work that is tailored to their individual needs.
The primary curriculum is indeed challenging, and the fast pace of the school day can cause young children to develop negative self-beliefs and we've witnessed firsthand how children can become disheartened and lose self-confidence when they don't receive the support they need.
While teachers in schools do a remarkable job managing a set curriculum and teaching 30 pupils of mixed abilities, we wanted to break free from these constraints.
Our mission is to provide focused, small-group tutoring that caters to each child's unique needs. In these small groups, children with similar needs can support and challenge each other, creating a more engaging and effective learning environment. Our extensive experience has proven that children
